Our rating of extreme experiences.
I rated the extreme activities, which I made, according to the level of adrenalin they give.
- Air balloon
This is not exactly an extreme experience, unless you are afraid of height. This is a very romantic experience when you hang in the air in absolute silence and do not even feel like you are flying. It is recommended to make a balloon flight in mountain regions with a breathtaking view.
14. Buggy or 4X4 SUV
Here there are endless possibilities from jeep tours to Buggy cars, when you all covered in mud. I like the Buggy more because sitting in a SUV with closed windows and air conditioner is not that interesting.
- Diving
The truth is that for me this was an extreme experience. I felt weird to be underwater with an oxygen balloon. There was some kind of unnatural breathing. However, each one is feeling different about pressure differentials and pains in the ears. I did not get connected to diving and prefer to snorkel on the water surface.
- Snowmobile
I did it in the Alps in Italy and I really liked the feeling. I suppose the perfect place is to do a snowmobile trip somewhere in Lapland or in Russia for a few days, to feel the freedom, the speed and the snowy landscapes.
- Water skiing
It’s not easy at all to do it for the first time and it takes a lot more time to do it well and enjoy it. But this is definitely an experience worth trying.
- ATV (Quad bike)
If you want to feel the terrain more closely, deserts, forests or just mud then there is nothing like a quad.
- Rafting
I really liked this activity, especially in one of the beautiful rivers in Europe – Arachthos in northern Greece. In early October, we did it also with little children because the flow at this season is quite calm. Of course there is rafting at a higher difficulty level in other seasons, and I’m sure I will do it in the future.
- Powered Paraplane
It takes off like a light plane on a short runway with the prop engine in the back, which gives the thrust, and a large paraglider wing makes a lift. It makes a lot of noise but can reach long range.
- Tandem Paraglider
If you want to feel like a bird and glide quietly in the clouds then you must try paragliding. You have do it in the mountains or on the beach with cliffs, so rising thermic air can hold the paraglider. An amazing experience of freedom and tranquility.
- Tandem Paraskiing
It is actually a paraglider only instead of running until the jump from the cliff you are skiing until you take off the snow and continue to hover over the snowy mountains. During the hovering, you can make very sharp maneuvers, when you rotate almost parallel to the ground in a frightening way. The landing is also on a snowy slope when you land on the ski until you stop.
- Rollercoaster
Well, there is many different types of rollercoasters worldwide and the limit is only your level of fear and stomach strength. In every amusement park I have been in the world, I have to do at least one rollercoaster.
- Flyboard
This is a relatively new extreme activity that I tried a few years ago. At the beginning, you do not even understand how you will be able to stand on a 10-feet water jet, but after a few minutes of falling into water, you understand how it works and then start to enjoy and dive like a dolphin. There is now a second generation of boards called Hooverboard, where you are connected to a board, the water jet is in the back angle to the water, and then you just fly forward over the water more or less like Marty McFly in the movie “Back to the Future”.
- Alpine skiing
I started cross-country skiing when I was a kid, but only a decade ago I discovered the Alpine skiing and since then became addicted. It is a great feeling of total freedom as you slide down the snowy mountain, overlooking the landscape of endless mountain peaks and breathes clear and fresh air.
- Mountain bike
Mountain biking is my love. I ride a bicycle in forests from a very young age. Every summer when I was a child, we lived in the country village and all day long, we were riding with the guys in the forests and cross-country. Since then I have had this attraction to mountain biking. If I do not go for a ride on a weekend, I feel I am missing something. Also here, as in any challenging activity there are different levels of tracks starting from wide and flat Cross-country roads, Single-tracks in the woods and mountains, fast and frightened Downhills and Freerides where no one rode before. I prefer flowing single-tracks in the mountain forests.
- Parachute tandem skydiving
This is definitely the craziest experience I have ever made. This whole situation of jumping from a plane at 12000 feet altitude is against the human nature. The craziest moment is when you raise your head up while you are already sitting in the open door of an airplane, and then when you fall, you suddenly see the ground opening below you. In a few seconds, you reach a constant speed of 125 miles/hour and then you do not have the feeling of free fall, it is as you just hang in the air! After less than a minute, the parachute opens and you glide to the landing point while making sharp turns.
