A week in St. Petersburg without kids in early july.
St. Petersburg in 2018 was recognized as the main tourist destination in Europe, as a city with cultural heritage. I was very surprised how this city is tourist friendly, very clean and the most I was amazed about the people of St. Petersburg. During June – July, there are white nights, when it is a daylight until 23:00 and from 03:00, and the rest of the time is twilight. The city has an amazing atmosphere of freedom, tranquility and culture.
Tips for tourists:
- From the airport and back the most convenient and cheapest way to get by bus 39 to the Moskovskaya metro station (30 minutes) and from there by the metro wherever in the city.
- Each bus has a conductor who sells tickets, but if you want to buy a travel card, then you need to go to one of the metro stations. We did not buy travel card.
- Urban transport (bus, trolleybus, tram and metro) is very convenient and comes exactly on time as the application shows, for example, Google Maps.
- In the subway in the machines you can buy tokens for one trip or travel card.
- Another way to get around the city seemed to me to be very convenient, since St. Petersburg is a very flat city, these are electric scooters, you can enter with it to transport, and to a cafe.
- We bought a local SIM card right at the airport at the Beeline store, where they will explain everything about programs to you. There are machines where you can fill it with money for conversations and the Internet.
- Be sure not to lose the registration Visa sheet that you were given at the airport at passport control.
