7 days in Cyprus with children (4 and 7 years old) at the end of April.
Here we will show you another Cyprus, hidden in the Troodos Mountains and not only on the beach. Cyprus impressed us with a variety of travel attractions, and most importantly the hospitality of Cypriots. The best time to visit Cyprus it is the end of April, great weather and few tourists.

Two villages – Pano Lefkara and Alona.

Photos and description:
Day 1:
From Larnaca airport, we drove to the house that we rented between Limassol and the Troodos Mountains, near the village of Laneia, called: Lania Royal Oak villa
The first day in Cyprus welcomed us with good weather 24 C, endless serpentine mountain roads and almost empty villages. April here is out of season and time seems to have stopped, no one in no hurry and complete silence. We visited the villages of Pano Lefkara and Alona where all the streets were covered with grapevines.
Left-hand traffic demands constant awareness on every turn, it is a good practice for the brain.
We advise from the airport to Laneia village to drive along the main highway A1 through Limassol and not try to drive directly through the mountains, mountain roads are very slow.
Day 2:
District Troodos is a mountain pine forest. Waterfall Millomeris, Caledonia waterfalls, Mount Olympus 1980m, Kakopetria village with small stone streets and trout from the nearby brook and at the end the Troodos Botanical Garden.
Day 3:
Today we went to the sea. Who said that the water is cold in April in Cyprus, just very good. Small beach hidden from the eyes in Pissouri, Aphrodite’s Rock Petra Tou Romiou mandatory place to visit and swimming, and a beach with small seafood restaurant in Coral Bay.
Day 4:
And again we went to the Troodos Mountains. Chantara Falls, a picturesque village Pedoulas with cherry trees, where we went to the observation point with a huge cross, Kykkos Monastery and a stunning view from the Tomb of Makarios. Someone told us that there is nothing to do in Cyprus for a week. Of course if all what you do is lying on the beach or in the hotel pool all day, and going from breakfast to lunch and from dinner to supper. The most interesting places are hiding in the mountains, not in the Club.
Day 5:
This day we started in the wine region in the village of Omodos, we have tasted local products, and on the way picked fresh cherries and almonds. Then finally went to visit our Laneia village, the old part was very nice. At the end of the day we went to the sea promenade in Limassol which has changed over the 10 years that we have not been there.
Day 6:
The whole day we spent in the area of Ayia Napa. The owner of our house advised us the best beach in Cyprus, and he was definitely right. Nissi Beach is really the best of all the beaches where I was, clear blue water and white sand in a closed lagoon with a small island. Then we went to the view point near the Cape Greco cliff and another one called Blue Laguna.
Day 7:
Our last day in Cyprus, we started with a walk around our house, and then on the road from Laneia to Limassol we saw the sign “Sturgeon fishing”. www.thelandofdreamscy.com
On this picture of course they helped us to catch sturgeon, but it was so delicious.
In the evening we drove to take a walk on the promenade of Larnaca and to the plane back home.
